Campership Program

Camperships can be awarded for up to 50 percent of early bird camp fee. Camperships are awarded strictly on the "honor system." No proof of income is required, although the program is designed to help a low-income youth who could not otherwise afford to go to camp. Properly approved and completed Camperrship projects will result in credit applied in the Scout's name toward the camp for which he completed the age-appropriate service project.

Those who wish to contribute to the Campership Fund may do so by sending their contribution to: Crossroads of America Council, Boy Scouts of America, 7125 Fall Creek Road North, Indianapolis, IN 46256. Please indicate that you would like your contribution to go to the Council Campership Fund.

Tour and Activity Plan

A FAQ page  for commonly asked questions and information about the Tour and Activity plan can be found on the BSA national website. Tour and Activity Plans should be submitted through a leaders' MyScouting account. After log-in, select the Tour and Activity plan under your "Unit Tool" link.

In addition to the reasons for submitting a Tour and Activity Plan listed on the national BSA website, the Crossroads of America Council has defined the following reasons/times when a unit MUST submit a Tour and Activity Plan:

  1. Trips of 500 miles or more; or
  2. Trips outside of council borders (not to a council-owned property) even if less than 500 miles; or
  3. Trips to any national high-adventure base (Floridea Sea Base, Northern Tier, Philmont Scout Ranch, Summit Bechtel Reserve) where you will be asked to present a copy of your tour and activity plan upon arrival, national Scout  Jamboree, national Order of the Arrow Conference, or a regionally sponsored event; or
  4. When conducting the following activities apart from council or district events (no matter where or what distance, including inside council boundaries); or:
                - Aquatics activities (swimming, boating, floating, scuba, etc.)
                - Climbing and rappelling
                - Orientation flights (flying plan must be processed, as well)
                - Shooting sports
                - Any activities involving motorized vehicles as part of the program (snowmobiles, boating, etc.)
  5. When planning a summer camp inside the council boundaries to a location other than one of our council's camps.
