Explore the Philmont high country on a 12-day backpacking expedition.  Experience the thrill of climbing mountains While learning technical rock climbing, archaeological excavation techniques and blacksmithing. Relive the by-gone days of the Old West as you ride a western saddle horse, learn the ways of the mountain man, pack burros and pan for gold in a clear mountain stream.

Crossroads of America Council, Boy Scouts of America, is organizing a Philmont Contingent for June 8 – June 22, 2012 including side trips and travel times (dates may change slightly with air travel). We have reserved positions for 45 youth and 15 adult participants. Our council will be traveling to Philmont as a group. Participants will be organized into crews of 12 people, possibly of different units and all adults registered agree to provide leadership to all youth participants in their Philmont crew. All 60 positions are first- come, first-serve according to the Crossroads of America Council High Adventure Contingent Policy. In order to reserve a position, you need to send the reservation form below along with a $250.00 deposit to the Scout Education and Program Center, P.O. Box 1966, Indianapolis, IN 46206-1966. Once you have reserved your spot, more information will be sent October 2011.

Estimated fees for Philmont 2012 which include airfare, buses, Philmont fees, side trips and meals will be approximately $1,425. The payment schedule will be as follows:
