The Crossroads of America Council, Boy Scouts of America has volunteered their services to the “500” Festival since 1957. This community service project has grown through the years. In 2005, we had 1053 Scouts and their adult leaders from 56 units assisting in this yearly event at the end of May.
Contact your district representative and sign up your unit to help the Seating Committee set the folding chairs, number them, and usher parade-goers. Following the parade, chairs are also re-stacked.
Each Scout and leader is given a patch from the 500 Festival Associates and certificate of appreciation from the Boy Scout Seating Committee. The patch design reflects the 500 Parade and Scouting themes and is designed by the Scout Committee.
