Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Scouting all year - Do something in the community and all of your members can earn their FREE Action Scout Patch! Have a booth at a school event, be a color guard at a local sporting event or take part in a community event. Do your own activity or check out a one of the council tubs, Water Bottle Rockets, Fire Building and Marshmallow Blaster set are all available to check out for FREE!

October

October 2 - Cub Scout Experience at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Formerly Cub Scout Fun Day) - Bring your family, den or pack, to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for loads of family fun. Race pinewood derby cars, space derby planes and rain gutter regatta boats, ride on the exciting coaster trikes or do the scooter obstacle course, play games, win prizes, shoot marshmallow blasters, marshmallow crossbows and sling shots, launch water bottle rockets and lots, lots more! New this year Cub Scouts who sign up in advance can shoot BB guns and bows and arrows. Everyone who comes out also gets admission to the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum! Only $5 per person (2 and under free). Circuit of Fun Event get your specail center patch for $2!
October 9 -Webelos Activity Badge Day (Fall) - Sign up early for this event because courses fill up quick. It is a great chance to earn two of the following Webelos Activity Badges; Artist, Craftsman, Engineer and Scientist. Or sign up for some of the adventure stations and learn from either of these two sessions; knots and lashings and map and compass or Indian lore and fire building.
October 15 & 16 - Cub Scout Fun Day at Camp Redwing - Come out and experience what Cub Scouts has to offer! Comeout and camp on Friday night or come Saturday morning then enjoy BB guns, archery, games, crafts, service and more!
October 16-31 - Free Scout Patch or Scout Late Night Adventure at the Children's Museum Haunted House - All Scouts who tour the Haunted House in their uniform get a free patch inside the Haunted House Boutique Gift Shop. Or Take part in one of the special Scout Late night adventures, but hurry and sign up spots are limited!
October 22-24 - Civil War Days, Battle of Belzer - Come out for a weekend at Belzer and find yourself emersed in the era of the Civil War, adults and youth are placed with the Union and Confederate armies and learn about the this crucial part of our countries history by living it. Eat period style food, learn to drill, march and fight like a soldier, take part in historical learning sessions and re-enact a battle right along side real reenactors. Don't forget to stay and watch the cannons do the dramatic "night fire" on Saturday evening.

November 20 - Merit Badge Day at Marian University - Several merit badges to choose from. Great as a troop or individual event. Small class sizes for quality instruction. Early bird fee on $15 for one session or $30 for two session and get a free lunch. Early Bird endson Oct. 31st, 2010. Quanlity Merit Badge Instructors needed, please fill out the form here.
November 20 -Scout Night with the Indiana Pacers - Come see the Pacers and get the best deal in town! At $10.60 you get a ticket to the game, shoot a free throw on Conseco’s main court and hear a special post game talk with a player. For a upgrade ticket you get a discount on that ticket, all the benefits of the $10.60 ticket plus a hot dog, chips, small Pepsi product and a t-shirt. *Many Council events are done in conjunction with other groups or agencies and these events may have special registration requirements and/or limited seating because the public may have the option to buy tickets. Please register as early as possible to ensure that your unit or family has the best opportunity to enjoy these special Scouting opportunies.
