Quality Unit Executive
Two year-round, part-time positions available. $17.50/hour + mileage reimbursement. 15-30 hours per week (hours will vary).
Qualifications – Must be 18 years of age and of good moral character. Cub Scouting knowledge and program planning and budgeting experience required. Knowledge of Scouting unit-level finances/fundraising preferred. Male and female applicants accepted. Must be willing to work nights and weekends, and travel locally. Must be goal-oriented, self-motivated, and sales-minded. Proficient in computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Job Description – Responsible for developing strong relationships with unit-level volunteer leaders. Support identified Cub Scout units by facilitating program planning and budgeting sessions, assisting with membership recruitments, recruit and motivate volunteer leaders, promote summer camp attendance, encourage adult leader training and orientation, and provide overall support to identified units’ year-round program. Work with units to attain Journey to Excellence Gold Award. Develop and present materials to small and large groups. Work with Trail’s End and council-level staff and volunteers to reach annual popcorn fundraising goals. Attend key events and meetings (unit, district, and council levels) as needed. This is a wonderful opportunity for both youth and adults to develop and maintain leadership skills, camping skills and people skills. The Crossroads of America Council has four summer-long opportunities for camp staff, including: Ransburg Scout Reservation, Camp Krietenstein, Camp Belzer and Camp Kikthawenund. Additional non-paying opportunities are available for several week-long District Day Camps.

Crossroads of America Council's Public Relations and Marketing Internship is an excellent opportunity for current college students to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit industry. The internship is designed to not only allow students to gain items for a portfolio, but to also grow his or her professional network. Two positions are offered during the fall, spring and summer semesters. Students will participate in a variety of projects including media relations, social media, writing, special events, graphic design and more.
