Indianapolis Recorder
Crossroads of America Council and the Indianapolis Recorder announced a new community partnership to expand awareness and participation in Scoutreach programs by both young people and adult volunteers.
The program is called “It Takes a Village” and includes new efforts to share the impact of Scouting and Scoutreach on young people in central Indiana.The partners will also address community issues such as crime prevention and enhancing family focus through town hall meetings and in-school initiatives.
Additionally, the Recorder is sponsoring a Scoutreach troop,Troop 123, which meets on Indianapolis’ east side. The goal of this program is to make sure young people and adult volunteers have opportunities to join the Scouting regardless of their financial circumstances, neighborhood,religion or ethnic background. La Voz
Crossroads of America Council and the La Voz formed a partnership to share information about Scouting to the Indianapolis Hispanic Community through articles and bilingual membership pieces. Jose Gonzalez joined the council’s Hispanic and Latino Scouting committee and La Voz will host a both at the annual Cub Scout Fun day.

Fleur de Lis Circle members

The Fleur de Lis Circle represents Indiana companies and organizations specially recognized for their abiding commitment to the values-based, time tested programs of Scouting. Their generous gifts of support many programs such as ScoutReach and camperships which allow Crossroads of America Council to provide members to participate in Scouting and the camp experience to 35,000 youth regardless of their financial circumstances, neighborhood or ethnic background. In addition, Fleur de Lis Circle members select and direct their support from a menu of options such as the Awards Dinner, Friends of Scouting (Governor’s Luncheon), Marsh Cookout on the Circle and ScoutReach programs.

This “packaged” approach eliminates multiple solicitations and aids companies in their charitable giving decisions by allowing choices for selected events and activities that appeals to their organization.
