What is Reaching for Tomorrow
Reaching for Tomorrow program is an in-school collaboration between the Boy Scouts of America's Learning for Life division, the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, and schools in central Indiana.
Reaching for Tomorrow is an educational program designed to meet the needs of youth and schools. It helps at-risk and special needs youth meet the challenges of growing up through character education and teaching basic living skills.
The objective of Reaching for Tomorrow is to provide supplemental curriculum which will reinforce life skills needed to achieve self-sufficiency. The 72 age-appropriate and grade-specific lesson plans are designed to involve youth through role playing, small group discussions and activities for special areas of focus.
Reaching for Tomorrow is available to all boys and girls, including those who are mildly to severely challenged, as well as at-risk youth. The program is delivered to students in grades K-12. 130 schools in central Indiana currently participate in the Reaching for Tomorrow program.
