Activities = Achievements =
Advancement
It's true! Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts alike benefit from our
Program through participation in Cub Scout and Boy Scout activities
and events. Participation leads to achievements and growth as a boy
and a young man. These achievements promote advancement in the
Scouting Program. This is the scope and focus of the Activities and
Civic Service function of the Northeast District, Crossroads of
America Council, and the Boy Scouts of America.

Civic Service =
Cooperative Involvement = Community Leadership
Team work makes the dream work! Boys and young men who
are taught to work together toward a common goal learn to cooperate
and become a productive member of a team. Scouts are mentored
to work together as a team in order to give back to their
communities. Clean-up projects in local parks; tree-planting
projects within their municipalities; assistance during disaster
recovery efforts - Scouts are there with positive energy and a
desire to serve their communities!

GREAT INDY CLEAN UP - April 17
The
Activities and Service Committee has teamed up with
Keep
Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc (KIBI) for the Mayor's Great Indy Clean
Up on Saturday, April 17th. We are hoping for 300 Scouts &
Scouters to take part in the morning (8:45AM-noon) service activity.
There are currently 100 committed Scouts/Scouters, so we need some
more Scouts/Scouters who want to help by painting murals, cleaning
up trash from creek beds, and other fun "dirty" stuff that Scouts
should like.
Financial help
from those unable to lend a physical "hand" would help secure
T-Shirts
for the event. Meeting at Peddlers Mall (West 38th St & High
School Rd) at 7:45AM for registration and service assignments.
Mayor Ballard will kick off the event at 8:30AM, and participants
will proceed to service projects. Service will conclude with a
celebratory lunch at noon.
