District Training

Training for volunteers helps ensure successful programs. All leaders should be trained to meet Quality Unit objectives as well as to help all adult leaders feel comfortable in their particular role. Units and leaders can access general and leader specific training in several ways.

For (PDF) information on the SM/ASM Specific Training to be given on Saturday, October 30th, at NED Fall Camporee, click here.

1.  Visit the Council's Training webpage (above) for resources offered in other Districts as well as for a complete description of training requirements and opportunities.  The BSA National and the Crossroads of America websites offer several on-line training courses that can be taken in the privacy of your home.  Print the certificate at the end of each course to give to your unit training coordinator and District Training Chair.

2.  Host training programs in your unit - work through your Unit Trainer or contact Ian Parent, the District Training Chair.  Check our NED Year of Training 2010-2011 flyer which lists, by month, all training in which a Scouter can participate.

2011 RELIGIOUS AWARD
Troop 276 at Castleton United Methodist Church invites 6th-8th grade Scouts (& parents) to join them in earning the God & Church award starting in January 2011.  For more (PDF) information click here.

3.  Meet training requirements through participation in Crossroads of America Council's annual  University of Scouting at Warren Central High School in January 2011.

4. Be sure to check out the Council's "Wall of Information" which WILL BE LOCATED next to the  Scout Shop entrance for Council and District training and learning opportunities as well as other Council-wide events and information.  This is currently pending installation following the move of Roesch Service Center and Scout Shop to the new Fall Creek North Drive location.
