Have you enjoyed Cub Scout Adventure Camp, hiked through Camp Krietenstein, broke bread in the dining hall at Ransburg Scout Reservation or visited one of the Scout Service Centers?
If so, you have benefited from programs and facilities provided by the Crossroads of America Council. All of these amenities are made possible through community support of our annual "Friends of Scouting" campaign.
Each year, the Crossroads of America Council relies on the support of Scouting families and other individuals in the area to fund the programs and facilities made available by the council. Volunteers visit families at Blue and Gold Banquets or Courts of Honors to give families the opportunity to make an investment in Scouting.
In 2010, we hope that every unit will plan 10 minutes for a "Friends of Scouting" presentation. By holding a presentation, Scout units will have completed one of the steps to earn the Quality Unit Award. Also, when the unit reaches its target goal, the unit will receive FREE rank advancements for the remainder of the year. In addition, a special recognition item will be awarded to all of the Scouting families in attendance.
