Crossroads of America Council 100th Anniversary Plan Overview
Our goal is to increase membership by 10% over two years through the 100th Anniversary campaign. We know that two things help decision makers choose to enroll their youth in Scouting: one, when the son or daughter shows enthusiasm for Scouting; and two, when word-of-mouth marketing communicates the values of Scouting to potential Scouts and their families. To create these catalysts for choosing Scouting, we are focusing on ensuring that every Scout, Scout leader and parent within our council has a chance to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Scouting. Current Scouts will have the opportunity to display their skills at public venues throughout the council’s boundaries, where they will be able to show the community how fun Scouting can be and create enthusiasm about Scouting in potential members. (This will also help engage current Scouts and improve retention and positive feelings about their Scouting program, which will be passed along as word-of-mouth marketing to other potential Scout families.) These local grass roots efforts will be coupled with an aggressive, targeted messaging campaign that will continually reinforce the positive values of Scouting.
We hope that you'll join us in the celebration. With your help, we can share the Scouting experience with the community and ensure that Scouting will continue to be strong for the next 100 years.
