National & World Scout Jamborees
2021 National Jamboree
Wednesday, July 21 through Friday, July 30 at the Summit
The Crossroads of America Council is excited to begin our formation of contingents to the 2021 National Jamboree, to be held at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. The 2021 theme is “Face the Challenge”:
“Face the Challenge. The truth is that young people can achieve more than they believe is possible. Scouting uniquely prepares its members to redefine their boundaries, push past them and emerge from the experience with the confidence that no matter the challenge, they can meet it.
Nothing is impossible for the prepared young person — no future is out of reach for a group of committed people who care.
It’s important to signal that the limits people perceive are self-imposed, and that with an embrace and application of the 12 points of the Scout Law and three points of the Scout Oath, there is a bright and positive future.
Participants in the 2021 National Scout Jamboree will learn that character is created when you achieve more than you thought possible.”
Registration is now open for all youth participants.
**Scouts must be at least 12 years and a First Class Scout by the departure date, and be under 18 years for the duration of the trip.
If interested in serving in a leadership role, please fill out this initial adult application/questionnaire, and return it to Stephanie Marron by January 15, 2020. Interviews for adult leadership positions will be scheduled soon thereafter, with all adult positions being filled for each contingent after interviews take place.
In 1916, Sir Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scouting movement, knew what success looked like for the 10th anniversary of Scouting. It was the sight of thousands of youth gathered together to celebrate. The jamboree was born! In his words, “The secret of [Scouting’s] growth lies in that indeterminate force which we only know as the ‘Scout Spirit’ and grown it has!”
