Sign up to receive district email and information to keep things top of mind! This is a mailing list so encourage parents, den leaders, youth, neighbors, anyone who is interested in receiving information from the district to sign up to get the most up to date information.

Friends of Scouting

Each year we ask units to hold a Family Friends of Scouting presentation so we can spread the word to families about the great things we do in this program, and explain how it is funded. Most presentations are done in the January – April timeframe, during a court of honor or pack meeting. Please contact our FFOS chair Terri Sanders or call the Muncie Scout Office at 765-288-0223 x2301 to schedule your presentation.

New Youth Protection Training

The National Council has released a new Youth Protection Training for all leaders that goes more in-depth on protecting the youth in our programs. As part of this new training rollout all new and currently registered leaders, regardless of current youth protection status, will need to take the new youth protection training. We ask that you have your training updated no later than October 15th. The new youth protection training can be found at my.scouting.org.

Journey To Excellence

The 2018 JTE Forms are available! While many of you have already done this, every unit should turn in a JTE scorecard. Many of you have questions about the JTE (Journey To Excellence) form. The Scout Office can help you get the numbers you will need to complete this form and determine how you rank for Journey To Excellence. Please call at anytime during normal office hours with questions, or email kagoth@crossroadsbsa.org and the information will be sent to you.

Unit Fundraisers

Each year, thousands of youth depend upon the money earned from unit fundraisers to attend summer camp, pay for annual registration or attend monthly activities. Each unit who participates in a money raising project that is not endorsed by the council, must submit a Unit Money-Earning Application at least two weeks before the proposed fundraiser to the Muncie Scout Service Center.

Fall Popcorn Sale

Scouting units can earn enough money through the fall popcorn fundraising sale to fund the rest of their Scouting year!  Would you like for your Scouts to attend summer camp, participate in Scouting events, and be recognized for their achievements all at no additional cost?  Encourage Scouts to sell popcorn! Need new unit equipment? Sell popcorn! Units can sign up to sell popcorn in 2018 here.

Most unit fundraisers max out at 50% profit and raise funds needed to support the unit. Last year, more than 73% of gross retail popcorn sales were returned to support Scouting – benefiting Scouts, units, districts, and the council.  You can be proud to sell Trail’s End popcorn because the products are delicious and the proceeds benefit everyone.
